Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

This Shoveler duck (Spatula clypeata) hen was photographed at Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area near McNeal, Arizona. Many of the dabbling ducks use their flat bills to strain food items from the water, but the big spatulate bill of the Northern Shoveler is adapted to take this habit to the extreme. Flocks of shovelers often swim along with their big bills barely submerged in front of them, straining food from the muddy soup of shallow waters. Despite their heavy-set build, shovelers are good fliers; at large gatherings, groups often are seen taking off, circling the area repeatedly, then alighting again.
My interest in photography began in middle school and continued throughout my career as a historian for various units in the United States Air Force. That is where I began concentrating on scenic and wildlife photograph. With the numerous deployments and permanent duty stations I refined my art and improved my equipment. After retiring from the service, I began working with a school photographer in Idaho and learned individual and family portrait, school sports, and wedding photography. I started my own business and did well enough to support my family. However, as my eyesight began to diminish, I was unable to properly focus film cameras. I simply could no longer provide the quality that I expected from myself, and I sold the business...
