The White Ibis is one of the most numerous wading birds in Florida and across the southeastern gulf coast. Its range includes the coastals regions of the United States to Virginia. These birds are highly sociable in all seasons, roosting and feeding in flocks, nesting in large colonies. These birds were sacred in ancient Egypt and are depicted in tombs as Thoth (god of wisdom). Scientific name: Eudocimus albus
